Gemius UK becomes a member of IAB

In January 2009, IAB UK has officially announced the joining of the association’s list of members by Gemius UK.

Among the most vital tasks of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) is the broadly defined education of the market in the area of online advertising potential. The IAB’s activities aim to inform about the growth of the interactive advertising marketplace, creating and presenting quality standards, and indicating effective solutions. The association’s goal is, among other things, to further marketers’ and brand mangers’ knowledge of the use of marketing on the internet through, for example, the presentation of interesting case studies.

In December 2008, Gemius UK joined the group of 465 members of the IAB UK. “This membership is crucial for Gemius UK, because it proves our commitment to follow the online regulatory guidelines approved by the British online market” – comments Adriana Tailor, Operations Director at Gemius UK. “The IAB is one of the most renowned industry bodies in the UK, and acquiring membership gives us the possibility of being part of the industry initiatives and expressing our opinions and concerns towards online measurement” – says Tailor.

Among the members of the IAB UK one can find the leading media owners and agencies (creative, marketing and media agencies), as well as industry service suppliers: ad server providers, affiliate networks, behavioural targeting specialists, e-commerce, rich media vendors, trade associations, website designers and many more. Gemius joined the ranks of the organisation as an online research specialist company, extending the list on which there are already such players as: Dynamic Logic, Hitwise, Isobar, MetrixLab, WunderLoop etc. Since members of the IAB UK are organised into working groups of various kinds, reflecting the varied member base, a collective voice of internet users emerges, thus influencing the comprehensive development of the entire industry. The above mentioned working groups include, but are not limited to, the following councils: Ad Operations, Internet Advertising Sales Houses (IASH), Mobile Advertising and Video Advertising, Research, Social Media.

Membership in the IAB UK is the third one for Gemius, which is already participating in the structures of IAB Hungary and IAB Romania. The company plans an intensification of cooperation with the committee in the very near future, both on the local and the European level.
